Operation Designated Tea Mug (part 3)

I have a job interview tomorrow, which reminds me that I’ve been slacking off on finding my designated tea mug!  From my last ODTM post, the Retro Qwerty Mug seemed to be most popular (readers also liked the Bonsai Mug, the Chalk mug, and the Keep Calm mug.)

Now it is on to round two!  Which of the following mugs should I consider for my designated tea mug?

The Designer Cat Tea Cup might suggest I’m a crazy cat lady.  I’m okay with that because it’s not far from the truth!

I hope the Colorful Sheep Mug won’t imply I’m a follower; instead, I hope it suggests I have a wonderful taste in cozy sweaters!

The Elusive Badger mug says I’m from Wisconsin!  I’m not. But I do know people who live in Wisconsin.

The Bee Mug says I’m the bee’s knees!  Har har har!

The Birds on the Wire mug suggests…erm, I’ve got nothing.  All I can think about is the movie birds by Alfred Hitchcock.

Help me pick a finalist from this bunch of animal mugs!  Which if these mugs is full of win?  Alternatively, do you have a tea cup or coffee mug featuring an animal?  Tell me about it!

Operation Designated Tea Mug (Stash Teas Collection)

I was admiring Ariauna’s blog (theteabar) and her fabulous Alice in Wonderland mug.  She directed me to Stash Tea’s online store for some pretty neat finds.  I’ve added the following to my list of possible tea mugs:

The Bonsai Mug will suggest to friends and co-workers that I’m down the earth and totally zen.

With the Classic Chalk Talk Mug I can convey whatever I want whenever I want!  But, knowing me I’d get chalk all over me… Potential messiness aside, this is a pretty neat idea!

The French Gnome mug will suggest I’m tastefully kitschy, and I’m a glutton for sweets.  On second thought…

The Keep Calm mug will let everyone know that either A. I’m a total mess and need a tea mug to keep me on track  B. I am, in fact, totally cool, calm, and collected, or C. I’m a fan of internet memes!

The Retro Qwerty mug will suggest I love writing, and I love looking hip while writing.

I’d say out of this collection it’s a tough choice!  Help me pick out a finalist from this bunch.  Which of these mugs do you think is the bee’s knees?

un-Designated Tea Mug

I stole this mug from the cupboards of my parents’ house about a year and a half ago as they were preparing to high-tail it from the Mitten State to its neighbor, Wisconsin.  Before my tea days, I used to binge drink coffee, and this mug seemed perfectly suitable for that; golf, ducks, and coffee go hand-in-hand(-in-hand), right?  But I’ve since replaced my morning pot of coffee with a cup or two of black tea.  And I’ve noticed golf, ducks, and hot tea don’t mix.  There is something unnatural about the combination.

Aside from that, I don’t actually play golf.  And I’m not a duck.  So, this mug says nothing about who I am.  I think it’s important for mugs to reflect the sipper (I say this only half tongue-in-cheek).  The importance of having a designated tea mug that reflects me has only grown significantly since I’ve graduated and have dedicated many hours of the day searching for jobs.  I’m afraid the following scenario might occur as a result of sipping from a mug that says nothing of me:

I am sitting in my office “working” and a co-worker passes by.  Co-worker sees my golf mugs and begins to make conversation.
Co-worker: Nice mug!
Me: Thanks!
Co-worker: So you like golf?
Me:  Oh, no…
Co-worker:  Oh, so you lied to me?
Me: What?  No, I–
Co-worker:  In that case I’ll need that report by noon and not five.

Okay, so maybe the scenario is exaggerated, but still you can understand why it’s imperative for me to find a designated tea mug, right?  And, so begins Operation Designated Tea Mug (ODTM) where I will search the interwebs for a tea mug of my very own.

Do you have a designated tea mug or coffee mug?  Tell me about it.  Or even better, show me it!
