Books are fashionable

Before my parents high-tailed it out of the Mitten state, I rummaged around in the basement, and I found a handful of picture books from when I was a little kid.  I sat on the cold concrete floor of the basement reading and found I still love the books!  I also found that I’m not as in shape as I thought I was because I felt a little stiff afterward.  Ah well.

After reading the books, I had this fun idea to create outfits based on the books.  If you know me in real life, you know I’m pretty inept when it comes to fashion.  I still rely on my mom or the gals at the Buckle to put together cute outfits for me.  But, I insist on playing around with Polyvore anyway.

The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame

Pig William by Arlene Dubanevich

The Mitten by Jan Brett

I have a handful of other outfits inspired by children’s lit stashed somewhere, but I’ll have to dig them up later.  In the meantime, what were some of your favorite picture books from when you were a kid?
